55 Southbank Boulevard - L6
THE BRIEF
Transform a former residential display suite into a highly functional and market-ready commercial workplace.
The existing tenancy was designed to sell apartments rather than support a working office environment. Key areas, including reception, were disconnected from natural light, with perimeter glazing concealed behind enclosed cinema rooms and display spaces.
The objective was to unlock the full potential of the floorplate by restoring natural light, improving spatial flow, and creating a warm, welcoming workplace that would appeal to future tenants.
SCOPE OF WORKS
Reconfiguration of an existing showroom and partial office into a contemporary commercial workplace.
The design focused on removing previous display suite elements, including enclosed cinema rooms and a fully constructed apartment, to re-establish connection to the building’s full-height glazing and natural light.
A new front-of-house suite of meeting rooms and boardrooms was introduced along the perimeter, flooding the front of house with natural light. The back-of-house workspace was expanded to include a combination of private offices and open-plan workstation areas.
A large breakout and collaboration space was created as a central hub, incorporating a fully functioning kitchen and bar to support both day-to-day use and informal client engagement.
The result is a cohesive and highly functional workplace that maximises light, improves usability, and significantly enhances the tenancy’s leasing appeal.
